Had two goes with this restaurant, and both were seamless, hah! (I was really going to use that word). For the price to value ratio- it's a fantastic deal. But the bonus is, the food has been super delicious too! I've only ever ordered two dishes during lunch time frame- Palek Paneer and Bindhi Masala. Delivery time has been reasonable. I'd recommend it for the vegetarian dishes based on my experience.

The food tasted old- rice, cheese, chicken. All of it. Do not order from here.

Best food for the money in NYC.

Swagat offers one of the best chicken saag dishes I've ever tasted. The sauce is creamy, with flavorful spinach in a creamy sauce that somehow avoids being heavy or greasy. The Vindaloo is good, although not as spicy as hard core fans might hope, but the chicken tikka masala is a bit thin. All their breads are delicious and fresh, even when delivered. Mango lassi is some of the best I've had. Delivery is prompt and the lunch prices offer real deals.

We live one block away from their location, and it took almost an hour and a half to deliver a very simple order. Called twice and the guy was rude on the phone. Delivery person was very nice and apologetic, and said it was very busy night (Sunday), but that doesn't matter to me. Food was very bland, not good at all, after all that. Will never order from there again.

With better cheap Indian places in Chelsea, I don't really see a reason to order from here again. I'd recommend trying Minar or Sirtaj. I suppose Swagat will do if you're really broke and really hungry, but the food is pretty bland.

absolutely terrible, look carefully in the food

I am thrilled to have found my indian restaurant in the neighborhood! I am an avid fan of indian cuisine and my wife is just getting into it. The chicken tikka was moist, NOT dried chunks drowned in sauce, the saag paneer, while a softer texture than I am used to was very tasty. The restaurant even made a special dish for my wife, who is not a fan of lamb. They made chicken rogen josh and I was hooked! From the ordering (on the phone) to the politeness of the delivery guy, thank you Swagat for filling the void in the new neighborhood.

Be aware that delivery can be slow. Delivery this afternoon on Sunday took exactly an hour for a 10 block distance.

Came late, chicken tikka masala was pretty bad - burnt and tasted like fish.

Swagat is a family-owned and run homestyle indian restaurant. Their food is DELICIOUS, and it never makes me sick, which is saying something. Their naan and sodas are still only $1, which in 2010 is crazy. They are extremely hardworking and kind, will work with your dietary restrictions, and can make their food SUPER MILD or SUPER SPICY! I love Swagat.

Could see the oil on top of the sauce for the Chicken Tikka Masala. Each dish had too much sauce and not enough meat/vegetables.

We ordered food from this restaurant on a Sunday night. It took an hour and 20 minutes for the food to be delivered. And not surprisingly, it was cold and they forgot to include rice.... Portions were decent size but the food was bland.

Always, always late. They say 20-40 mins but it's more like an hour and sometimes more. The quality of the meat is okay-poor. However, this is the only Indian delivery in the area that is cheap.

Wasn't great, a lot of rice and not a lot of the vegetable dishes in the lunch platter. But it's so cheap what do you expect.

The food at Swagat is ok. Unfortunately my experience with delivery was extremely poor. Despite an estimate of 25 - 40 minutes, my food did not arrive for an hour and twenty minutes. The one really infuriating thing is that I tipped (well) ahead of time -- a mistake I will not make again.

This place deserves a much higher rating. Prices are fair, the food is excellent, they delivery on time and there's no hassle.

I ordered for Chicken Biryani and Samosa, Samosa is full of oil and dripping out. Chicken biryani is also a bit oily. There is no spoon in the bag. I certainly dont recommend to my friends or to anyone.

Food was good, but they forgot a small item I paid for on the order. Hard to sop up all the good sauce without the Nan I paid for.
